THE JUDGE
Daniel Considine
will judge this year’s West National in Virden, Manitoba on July 11-13. Daniel has been a goat breeder for more than 40 years and operates a dairy goat operation called Sunshine Farms in Portage, Wisconsin. His herd has won hundreds of awards and championships, and he has been the Premier Breeder at the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) national show for many years.

Daniel is also a senior ADGA judge and has judged at the national and international level. He has an excellent eye for quality and is dedicated to the improvement of dairy goat genetics. He has also served ADGA as President and Vice President repeatedly, and has been a long time member of the ADGA Board of Directors. [back to top]

EVENTS
Exhibitor check-in is Wednesday, July 11th. Showmanship and junior classes will run on Thursday, July 12 beginning at 10 am, with the senior classes showing on Friday, July 13, also starting at 10 am. The photographer will be in attendance on Friday, and awards will be presented on Friday as well.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 11th, the Parkland Classic Goat Show Committee will host a time for visiting with old friends, meeting new breeders and networking. They will also serve refreshments. The host committee is appreciative of Parkland Classic’s support. [back to top]

The host committee will have a social evening Thursday, with a catered ‘barn banquet’ for exhibitors and invited guests. Cost for adults: $10; children 10 & under: $5. A continental breakfast will be available both Thursday and Friday mornings. And there will be a silent auction!

LOCATION
Virden is centrally located in the southwest corner of friendly Manitoba, right on Highway #1 and adjacent to Highway #83, the longest highway in North America. A town of 3500 people, Virden serves a large agricultural community, and boasts a number of historic sites, including the CP Station which houses an art gallery and the Aud Theatre, western Canada’s famous opera house built in 1911.
